Belts
are common mechanical parts that are popular among many industries. There are
various types of belts for you to choose. And some of them can also be further
divided into many types such as the V-belt.
The V- belt is the basic power-transmission belt, providing the best
combination of traction, operating speed, bearing load, and service life.
The
wedging action of the V-belt
in the pulley groove allows them to transmit higher torque at less width and
tension than flat belts. Typically, the V-belt is endless. When compared to the
flat belt, it is far more superior at small center distances and high reduction
ratios.

As
mentioned above, the V-belt can be
further divided into many other types such as the open-ended V-belt, ribbed
V-belts, variable speed V-belts, Cogged V-belts, Wedge V Belts and double-sided V-belts, Steigentech manufacture all
of these and also special application belts such as their Turf Drive belt range
for both domestic and professional Lawn & Garden machinery.
Steigentech
Variable speed V-belts that are banded together to achieve different speeds,
strength and transmission capabilities and are recommended for multi-sheave
drives.
Steigentech
Cogged V-belts can either be a conventional or narrow raw edge Cogged V-belt. The former one is
designed for high-tension drives, while the latter one can be applied for all
drives.

Steigentech
also manufacture a range of hexagonal belts which has two Vs with one on each
side. Its special shape enables it to be applied in serpentine reverse bend drives
where a transmission may need to drive in reverse to generate power.
